Practice your Irish Brogue and head out to the Southwest Missouri Celtic Festival and Highland Games in Buffalo this weekend. KSMU’s Michele Skalicky has more…

Celebrate your Celtic Heritage in Buffalo, Missouri tomorrow night and Saturday (9/11 & 9/12). It’s the 7th annual Southwest Missouri Celtic Festival and Highland games at the city park and fairgrounds.
Gloria Wolfgang is a festival coordinator. She says tomorrow night will feature the calling of the clans…

"They will have a bonfire. We'll announce their clan--talk a little bit about it, then there will also be some music, dancing and amateur games also."

Gates open at 6 tomorrow night and at 9 Saturday morning. Saturday’s events include Scottish, Irish and Welsh music, authentic Highland games, a pipe dance, dance workshops, duck and sheep herding demonstrations, lye soap making, vendors, Celtic food and a clan tent…

"Where anyone who wants to know about their heritage--just go to a clan tent, and they'll be able to find where you originated from."

A Children’s realm will feature puppet shows, games, and hands-on activities. Admission is free tomorrow night and $7 Saturday. To find out more, visit www.swmocelticfestival.com or call 417-345-2852.
