  • If you’d like to take your family camping but need more information before heading out, plan to attend the Discover Nature Families program “Beginning Camping” tonight (6/12) at 6 at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range. You need to register by calling the Nature Center at 888-4237.
  • Adults are invited to listen to Stag Owens and the Stageroos on the Library Center Patio tonight (6/12) at 7. For details, 882-0714.
  • Celebrate local music tonight (6/12) at 8 at the Park Central Branch Library. Storyline will perform pop/rock music.
  • Kids can go to the Strafford Branch Library at 2 this afternoon to watch a new release movie, rated G or PG, complete with popcorn.
  • The 6th annual River Rescue Beer, Brats and Bluegrass Festival will be held Saturday night (6/13) at the Historic Ozark Mill in Ozark. Gates open at 6--admission is $6. Enjoy music by Honky Suckle, The Lowdown Fancy and Techs and the Roadies.
  • The 22nd Annual West Plains Car Club Wheels and Deals Car Show will be held tomorrow (6/13) on the square in downtown West Plains. For more information, www.westplainscarclub.com.
  • World Wide Knitting Day in Public will be celebrated tomorrow (6/13) at the Yarn Studio in West Plains. Take your lawn chair. Free lessons will be offered.
  • The West Plains Elks will host the Harold Wilson Memorial Golf Classic tomorrow (6/13). For details, 256-7955.
  • The XTERRA Eureka Springs Off-Road Triathlon and Trail Run will be held tomorrow (6/13) in Eureka Springs. Today (6/12) is the last chance to register. For more information, www.eurekaspringsoffroadtriathlon.com.
  • There will be free music in Basin Park in Eureka Springs tomorrow (6/13) from noon to 6 and Sunday (6/14) from noon to 4, weather permitting.
  • Kids of all ages are invited to the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library tomorrow afternoon at 1 for the program “Get Creative: The Color of Fun.” For more information, 862-0135.
  • While the kids are attending THEIR program, adults may attend the program “Thrifty Living” at 1 tomorrow afternoon at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library. Learn tips for finding more time in life by wasting less. To register, 882-0135.
  • The 1st Annual Pierce City Arts Festival will be held tomorrow (6/13) from 10 to 5 in downtown Pierce City. For information, 476-3531.
  • The Will Rogers Indian Club will host the 44th Annual Powwow today and tomorrow (6/12-6/13) at the Marshfield Equine Center, 2 miles north of I-44 on Highway 38. Vendors open around noon today. Gourd dancing starts tonight at 7. Vendors open around 10 tomorrow morning, and gourd dancing will start at 1. Admission is $2. For more information, 417-256-4698.
  • Dairy Days are tomorrow (6/13) from 10 to 8 and Sunday (6/14) from noon to 5 at the Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park. There will be hayrides, butter making, milking demonstrations, crafts, a Saturday evening bonfire, music by the Lost Hill Band and more. To find out more, visit www.parkboard.org.
  • A Good ‘O Fashion Cook-off, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society, will start tomorrow morning (6/13) at 11 at the Fireplace Shoppe, 2120 E. 7th in Joplin. Lunch is a minimum $5 donation to benefit the Red Cross.
  • The Arts in the Parks Series at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield continues tomorrow with the Ray House Jamboree from 11 to 4 at the Ray House. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per car load. Take blankets and lawn chairs.
  • The Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks will hold the 8th annual Cycle for Life event tomorrow (6/13). There will be a 50-mile bike ride, a 25-mile and 10-mile ride and a 1-mile family fun ride. Check in begins at 6:15 am at James River Assembly. For more information, www.bcfo.org.

  • Stop by the Nature Center Sunday between 1 and 4 to watch members of the Fallen Branch Flute Makers demonstrate and play instruments made from fallen tree branches.
  • Chapter & Verse: Music on a Sunday Afternoon will feature Techs and the Roadies Sunday afternoon (6/14) at 2 at the Library Center. Admission is free.
  • Sowing Seeds for Community will offer free garden walks Sunday afternoon (6/14) from 1 to 5 near West Plains. For more information, 255-2306.
