This weekend, a school in north Springfield will get a "makeover." KSMU’s Katie Easley reports.

Reporter: “I’m standing here in the parking lot of Pleasant View Middle School where Saturday, hundreds of volunteers are expected to show up from North Point Church to paint, clean, weed, trim the trees and improve the teachers’ lounge here at the school.”

Julie Steiger, the principal of Pleasant View Middle School, was excited when she got the phone call saying North Point Church wanted to help.

This project is a part of North Point Church’s “Second Saturday” program. Each month the church picks a place in Springfield to improve or completely makeover.

For KSMU News, I’m Katie Easley.
