Listen in Library officials are encouraged by donations received so far for a new fund. KSMU's Michele Skalicky has more. About a month after a literacy fund was established by the Springfield-Greene County Library Foundation in honor the library district’s former director, Annie Busch, donations are coming in. Jeanne Duffy is spokesperson for the Springfield-Greene County Library District. "The Library Foundation has raised more than $12,000. $5,000 of that came from the Friends of the Library, but the rest of it came from individual donations." "We do a lot of that now. We have librarians and staff who go out to the daycare centers, and that's one of those things that we want to emphasize, so we want to make sure we have enough money to do that." If you’d like to donate to the Annie Busch Early Literacy Fund, call Michelle Creed at 883-5366, ext. 277 or e-mail michellec@the library.org. You can also find out how to donate by asking any librarian at the Library District’s ten branches.
