Volunteer Teenagers Help Out at Greene County Polls Print E-mail

We all know that you must be at least 18 years old to vote, but that doesn’t mean younger people can’t get involved. KSMU’s Jamie Givens spoke with a teenage volunteer at the Greene County Courthouse today.

When I entered the courthouse, high school student Lexie Coonrod was directing voters to their appropriate lines. At only 15, and years away from voting herself, Coonrod still thinks it’s important for young people to get involved in the election process. She took a short break from her duties to chat with me.

Coonrod was nominated to work at the polling station by a teacher from her school.

For KSMU News, I’m Jamie Givens.
