| Flooding Could be a Problem Thursday in the Ozarks |

Listen in  MP3 format More than three inches of rain had fallen in Springfield as of 6 this morning. Michele Skalicky talks with a National Weather Service meteorologist to find out what we can expect for the rest of the day. The rain continues to fall in the Ozarks, and meteorologist Drew Albert with the National Weather Service Office in Springfield, says it will continue to do so into the afternoon today.
"But the heaviest rain looks like it's, at least for the Springfield area, is for the most part over. We might still see some moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall as ex-Gustav low pressure over Northwest Arkansas moves into Southern Missouri."
3.32 inches of rain had fallen at the Springfield-Branson National Airport as of 6 am. As of 4 am, 4.95 inches had fallen at the West Plains airport, Joplin had received 3.43 inches and Mountain Grove had gotten 3.64 inches. Albert says, as you head out this morning, watch out for flooding.
"We expect that with daylight a lot of people will discover a lot of low-water crossings are flooded, and we are expecting some creek and river flooding as well in the Ozarks."
A flood warning for urban areas and small streams continues until 10 this morning. A flash flood watch is in effect thru this evening. It's going to be a cool day. Temperatures will reach only the upper 60s.
