Later this month, a Missouri man will head to Las Vegas for the national champtionships of Rock, Paper, Scissors. KSMU's Jennifer Moore interviewed the young man on his strategy and the upcoming competition.

26-year-old JoDan Russom of Poplar Bluff entered the Rock, Paper, Scissors event on a whim while eating at a sports bar in Poplar Bluff earlier this spring. he surprised his friends--and himself--by going undefeated in the final round among 200 contestants.

Russom said he doesn't really have much of a strategy.

He will compete in Las Vegas for the Rock, Paper, Scissors national championships. If he wins there, he will go to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

When asked, Russom said he didn't know when the game became an Olympic sport.

According to the USA Rock, Paper, Scissors League website--and yes, there is one--all you need is an arm, a wrist, and fingers to play. However, the website does say loose-fitting clothes, pre-game stretching and manicures are strongly encouraged.

For KSMU News, I'm Jennifer Moore.
