Drury University announced its three finalists for president today. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

Drury University announced its three finalists for president today.

They are Janet McNew, Provost and Dean of the faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Sharon Smith, Dean of the Schools of Business and Professor of Management Systems at Fordham University in New York City, and John Sellars, Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Syracuse University in Syracuse New York.

Drury University is looking for the right person to take over when President John Moore retires at the end of May.

Drury's presidential search committee chose these three finalists from a pool of 80 applicants that they had narrowed down to 11.

John Burline chairs the search committee.

Some folks in Springfield might recognize one of Drury's finalists…John Sellars from Syracuse University was also a finalist for the position of President at Southwest Missouri State University.

Again, John Burline.

Burline says Sellars is an excellent candidate but the other two candidates have their strengths as well.

Each candidate will spend two days on campus.

During their visits, they'll meet with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders.

The presidential search committee will take feedback following the campus visits…Information on the search process and the finalists is available online at presidential search.drury.edu
