In an uncertain economic environment where jobs are scarce, higher education becomes a consideration for more people in order to improve their situations or provide options. Eric Eckert, admissions and recruitment coordinator for the graduate college at Missouri State University, discusses the Graduate College Showcase. It will be held Feb. 4 from 2-8 p.m. in the Plaster Student Union, Ballroom West.

Robotics Plays a Role in Jobs, Opens Opportunities Print E-mail

The term robotics may bring fantastic imagery to the mind, but it has begun to play a major role in many industries. Dr. Martin Jones, assistant professor in the department of technology and construction management at Missouri State University, discusses robotics' role in the world. He is joined by Chad Pepmiller, a senior who participated on the winning Missouri State team that won "Best Design/Innovation" at the ATMAE National Conference Robotics Manipulator Competition.

Thinking back to childhood and school days, it's a definite mixture of good days and bad. Mayber there was a bully in the class - or maybe there was a teacher that you didn't like - or maybe you just didn't get it - but sometimes, school was not your favorite place. Dr. Lorene Stone, professor of sociology at Missouri State University, disscusses her research into negative school experiences and the repercussions.
