Information:

Randy Hamm is the host of Journey Into Jazz on KSMU. He is in great demand as an artist/clinician, and has performed at numerous North American Saxophone Alliance Regional, and National Conferences, The World Saxophone Congress, and the International Association of Jazz Educators Conventions. He has also been featured as a composer, arranger and soloist on the Seabreeze, Arabesque, and Origin/OA2 record labels.

A founding member of the Thrascher Saxophone Quartet, Mr. Hamm maintains an active performance schedule and has worked with Mel Torme, Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Manhattan Transfer, Les Brown Band of Renown, and has performed with jazz greats Clark Terry, Randy Brecker, Bobby Shew, Slide Hampton, James Moody, Buddy DeFranco, Bob Mintzer, and Pete Christlieb, among others.

Mr. Hamm received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Education degrees from the University of North Texas. While at UNT, Randy was a member of the internationally acclaimed One O'clock Lab Band. Awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Fellowship Grant, Randy has studied with Dave Liebman, James Riggs, Dan Haerle, Jack Peterson, and Frank Mantooth. Mr. Hamm joined the faculty of Missouri State University in 1989 and is currently Director of Jazz Studies, Professor of Saxophone, and Woodwind Division Coordinator. Randy is an Artist/Clinician for Sonare Winds and plays Keilwerth Saxophones.
