Areas Experiencing Severe to Extreme Drought Expand in Missouri

The drought in Missouri continues to worsen. The National Weather Service has expanded areas that are included in the severe drought and extreme drought. Springfield is in the severe category. Joplin is in the extreme area. Normal rainfall in Springfield since June 1 is 9.33 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The area has received 6.06 inches. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who leads Kansas Gov.
